tPanel is a web hosting control panel made to run on almost any web server with only a few requirements. Most web hosting control panels such as cPanel® and Plesk® require root access to administrate over the server and automate many processes. Shared hosting plans do not provide this feature thus all tasks must be done by the shared hosting client. tPanel semi-automates the process by providing an interface for "requesting" these features such as FTP accounts, MySQL databases, e-mail accounts, etc. These accounts are not created immediately by tPanel but must be completed by the administrators through the shared hosting control panel on which tPanel resides.
