I've been making progress with M-OS Innovative, and I'm not sure when it'll be done. I haven't even gotten the desktop done, but I've been working on the programs and accessories like crazy. I think everyone who uses M-OS Innovative when it's done will be satisfied. I am thankful that I wrote the QB Object (Rebuild) library which has helped ease the programming. Oh, for those who are interested, I installed a File Sharing network called File Share: http://www.fileshare.us.tt/ . It's free, and I hope you like it.

September 27, 2005

I restored everything to a new server: http://datacomponents.ourproject.org/ . Instead of "gf.ttu.ee", enter "ourproject.org", so everything from the TTU server is now on the OurProject server. We're currently working on the new web hosting, and we're redesigning the site. Currently in M-OS Innovative, I am working on the file manager in M-OS.

September 26, 2005

New secondary hosting! We are currently working on copying everything from TTU to OurProject.org. We will hopefully have everything up in a couple of days, but we got feedback from TTU about their service status:

Ports on gf.ttu.ee (193.40.251.106):
(The 1652 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: filtered)
PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
53/tcp open domain
80/tcp closed http
113/tcp closed auth
443/tcp closed https

Like most weekends, I'll be gone on this one too. I'll be at Cooperstown, NY (in the USA) and I won't be back until late Sunday. I'll answer your e-mails (if you have any for me) when I get back.

September 22, 2005

Here's a demo of M-OS Presentations, a presentations program for M-OS. It is a little complicated, but you run "DESIGNER.EXE" to run the designer, run "PRESENT.EXE" for the viewer, and as a command argument, enter the presentation file (*.TXT or *.PRS) (e.g. PRESENT.EXE TEST1.TXT). We have found hosting, and we are currently rebuilding everything. Nothing should be lost, but our DNS should be made by tomorrow.

September 20, 2005

KLDP is back online again, but we still have no response via HTTP from TTU. We're trying to request a mirror or a back-up host for the users of QB Project. We've taken the liberty to keep your work on our main server, but we will not allow use of the file manager. We're sorry, but we don't want any problems to occur, but we're taking the liberty of upgrading QB Project to a better QBasic host, as soon as we get a host.

September 19, 2005

We got news that KLDP is having some problems, but they're working on it and they should be up soon. As for TTU, we haven't seen anything, much less heard anything from them.

September 18, 2005

KLDP is still down, and TTU has just went down too. We can receive connections to both, but we can't use HTTP on them. For those of you who are impatient, all files are here for KLDP: http://ftp.madnom.com/kldp/download/datacomponents/ . And here is the TTU site: http://www.datacomponents.us.tt/ttu/ . Instead of datacomponents.gf.ttu.ee, please enter datacomponents.us.tt/ttu/ for the files. Some features may not work correctly, but we will try to seek the problems.

September 16, 2005

KLDP is down. Our main file server is down, and we think it'll be up soon, but if it is down for a very long time, we will investigate this and repair it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
September 14, 2005

Progress has been pretty good so far. I'm almost done with the designer for M-OS Presentations. Hopefully, I will use that to make a visual designer for the SDK. :-D There is still much to do in M-OS, but I hope to get that done by October. I'm sorry to those who are impatient, but please wait. Good things that take long to develop take long times for them to develop. :-)

September 12, 2005

Some plans have been changed in the designer, but it'll still be pretty good and easy for designing presentations. I've also got so much planned, here's what is planned: File Manager, Writer, Spreadsheet, WAV player, screensavers (many), Datebook, and more.

September 9, 2005

I'll be gone this weekend, and I won't be back until late Sunday. I am, however, going to get some things done for M-OS Innovative. I have so much planned, and I'd like to get as much done as possible. :-)

September 7, 2005

New plans! I'm going to be developing part of M-OS Innovative on my laptop, since I'll be going to school in the mornings, and I'll have time to work on it then. I'm not sure how much I'll accomplish, but I'll try to get as much done as possible. I've got several things to do for people, school, and myself, so I'll plan things out accordingly. I am desperate and persistent to get this GUI done, but right now I'm working on the Presentations Designer, which is taking a long time might I add. So, please bear with me and be patient. Thanks. :-)

September 5, 2005

Progress is coming along well, but slowly. Not on my part, but just on programming all the features and making sure everything works. I'm working on the designer for M-OS Presentations, which is taking a while, but I hope to have it done soon. Everything is coming great, and I'm hoping to have it done in a month or sooner, hopefully.

September 1, 2005

M-OS is getting better and better! With the support of our QB Object (Rebuild) library, we're able to write programs for M-OS in short amounts of time. I'm still working on the designer for M-OS Presentations, and hopefully, an SDK will be made too! We have so much planned, and we hope we can accomplish it soon.

August 29, 2005

Sorry for not updating, but I've been getting ready for returning to school tomorrow. During 7 AM to 2:30 PM, I'll be at my high school, so progress on M-OS will be delayed a little. However, we have gotten a lot done. We're working on a PowerPoint-type of program for M-OS, and it's working great! QB Object 1.2 is available for download.

August 25, 2005

Well, the library for M-OS is going to have a different design. Because we were thinking of using the RTI-icon loader for the windowing icons, we've decided to change window styles. We also acquired software that allows us to convert our designs to code. :-) We'll at least receive better compliance from the library and ease of programming now. QB Object v1.2 should be released tomorrow, since we found some things that should be updated.

August 21, 2005

BREAKING NEWS: The Tripod Website (http://tlsuess.tripod.com/) has been taken offline! We are still investigating this removal of our mirror site, but this site will now become the main website. However, I have a progress reporter for all of you: http://www.datacomponents.us.tt/mos/ . This will give you access to the project's status. TO LOGIN, USE "mos" AS THE USERNAME AND THERE IS NO PASSWORD. Check under the "Projects" tab for M-OS Innovative. You can use this to check up on M-OS Innovative's progress.

August 17, 2005

Many thanks to those who signed my guestbook. :-) Also, sorry I didn't update later that day or yesterday, but I was extremely busy writing programs for M-OS and volunteering my time to other things. I released QB Object (Rebuild) v1.1: http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2687/qbobj11.zip . This has significant changes, so I'd recommend downloading it if you are using the QB Object (Rebuild).

August 15, 2005

It's my birthday, today! I'm now 15 years old. If you'd like, would you please sign my guestbook. Thank you. I'll have a software update later today.

August 14, 2005

I'm working on some programs for M-OS using the new QB Object (Rebuild). I'm working on the Address-book program, and there's quite a lot to do. :-) Also, I should have a release of QB Object (Rebuild) Version 1.1 with some corrections and additions made to the library.

August 11, 2005

Sorry if it seemed like we were forgetful, but we've been busy working on M-OS, Fun500 GUI, and QB Object (Rebuild). Here is the link to the QB Object (Rebuild): http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2666/qbobject.zip . Also, from the Data Components Archive, we have Visual Z++ 3.0: http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2611/vzpp30.zip . This is more of a pre-mature visual-designed programming language. We are looking for our better versions with Pascal embedded.

August 6, 2005

We're back and better! I have uploaded all the content, except for what's in the KLDP file repository, to my new host, Moved.in. I am hoping to have this host for quite a while, since they seem reliable so far. So, the URL for Data Components Home is: http://www.datacomponents.moved.in/ . Data Components GUI Reviews is located here: http://www.datacomponents.moved.in/QBGUI/ .

August 5, 2005

I've been busy during the week working on M-OS and the GUI SDK developed from KaOS. As some of you who tried KaOS know, it has a bad foundation to the QBasic environment, so I have been working to make it smaller, stable, and fast. I've also been participating in the JacobPalm.dk Forums a lot, so if you want to talk to me there, you can join Jacob's forum and just PM my profile, which is my name.

July 31, 2005

I was looking in the Data Components Archive (on my PCs and disks) and I am thinking of uploading some of my early development programs and software for free as an archive. In a few days, I'm going to see if I can move in to Moved.in and make sure everything works. I'm glad that their hosting is reliable.

July 28, 2005

PCPAGES.COM has crashed!
Here is the link with more info: http://www.pcpages.com/loss.htm . If the files are not restored from the backup by the PCPAGES administrators, we will try to fix all links and correct the errors. Please be patient.

July 27, 2005

We are busy working on an online page editor for QBProject.us.tt, but we are still finding time to work on M-OS. We are working on converting some programs to work with SCREEN 12 and M-OS. Our window library is still not complete yet, but it is starting to look nice.

July 24, 2005

We are back up, and we are currently working on moving the website to Moved.in, so the URL from the US.TT redirector domain will be changed to http://www.datacomponents.moved.in/ . QBProject has also had some improvements, so now when you register, you have more options and also, you RECEIVE A FREE WEBSITE!!!!

July 16, 2005

I've been busy with M-OS, QBProject, and much more. I didn't want you to think this site was abandoned or close to it, but on July 17 to July 23, I will be at Summer Camp, and there are no computers up there. If you want to submit a project to QBProject, you may, but it will be approved/denied on July 24 or after. I also received the code to "QB Object Library", a unique GUI library written in QuickBASIC by AMP Software. Data Components Software Development has space reserved for AMP Software, but no website exists. Before I forget, M-OS XT 5.0 is released:  http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2524/mosxt5.zip .

July 12, 2005

I know this site has had a couple downtime problems and such, but we are currently looking for new hosting since we don't have word if HostDI will be back up again. To those of you who have QBProject.us.tt accounts, we will be keeping them, but we hope to find a secondary host for QBProject.us.tt websites. This feature will only be available to those with QBProject.us.tt accounts. We are still testing and working on this, but we should have it soon.  To those of you who have bookmarks of QBasicGUI.us.tt or Data Components Home, we ask that you please change it to this URL for temporary purposes: http://datacomponents.kldp.net/71005/ and http://datacomponents.kldp.net/71005/QBGUI/ . We're sorry for the inconvenience, but I am still fighting to keep these services available for the community. With regards to M-OS, M-OS XT 5.0 will not have the XP-style theme since we are planning on using it in "Millennium OS Innovative", and since we didn't have much time for converting due to recent events. Our apologies, but the documentation is written and it should work.

July 6, 2005

I know I haven't really updated you with much info on M-OS XT 5.0's progress, so here's a screenshot to show it:

To see a clearer shot, you may visit the "Millennium OS" page to see it better.

July 4, 2005

Happy 4th of July! ...to those who live in the U.S. and elsewhere. M-OS XT 5.0 might be delayed, but I hope to release it soon. I might have to change my plans if Pheonix will be continually developed by me. Hosting is back up.

July 1, 2005

Please excuse me for not updating earlier, but I have been working on Phoenix, a GUI by Fun550. It can be found at: http://www.fun500.hostdi.info/Pheonix/ . KLDP hasn't been working well today, but I hope it works better tomorrow. If it doesn't work soon, I'll have to put all project hosting in pending, move the file archive, and put all the files into the new host, and of course, redirect all the URLs. Here is where all the Data Components files can be found, on KLDP's secondary host (which I can't upload to): http://ftp.madnom.com/kldp/download/datacomponents/ . You can find Millennium OS 2005 (mos2005.zip) and M-OS XT 4.0 (mosxt4.zip). Again, please excuse the delay, but I have been pretty busy.

June 27, 2005

M-OS XT 5.0 is on its way. It will be done in about a week or less. I've also uploaded a picture of myself on the "About Us" page of the website, so you can see the man behind the mask. ;-)

June 26, 2005

I will be using the XP-style library from M-OS Platinum/3 for use in M-OS XT 5.0. I also hope to launch a copy of M-OS in SVGA in the summer as well. As some of you know, there was the M-OS Gold project which was our attempt at writing an SVGA version of M-OS to imitate the one shown in the first screenshot on the Millennium OS page.

June 25, 2005

I'm back from vacation, so I'll resume work. Millennium OS XT 5.0 still needs work, but the scripting engine is complete. I am now writing some demos and scripting tutorials for it. Help and documentation on the scripting engine are also finished.

June 17, 2005

I am updating this through a hotel connection, but I would like to say that the scripting language in M-OS XT 5.0 is looking neater and better. I fixed it and it should have object-oriented capabilities. I'll try to release it in July when M-OS XT 5.0 and the entire eXtended Technology edition of M-OS is done. I still have many other ideas for M-OS, so it will not die anytime soon.

June 16, 2005

Hi all! I'll be on vacation from June 17 to June 27 and during that time there will be NO UPDATES and NO PROJECT APPROVALS/DENIALS. I will try to update the site with news on M-OS XT 5.0, but I can't guarantee I will. Plus, ALL E-MAILS SENT TO ME WILL BE ANSWERED ON JUNE 27 OR LATER.

June 12, 2005

M-OS XT 4.0 is here!!!! You can download version 4 here: http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2356/mosxt4.zip . I also hope to make M-OS XT 5.0, which will look like a Windows XP-style GUI. Like M-OS Platinum, there was a theme-system which will be reintroduced into M-OS.

June 11, 2005

M-OS XT 4.0 is on its way! I am just putting the finishing touches on it, and it'll be done. It is very stable, and it looks a lot like Windows 95! You'll be surprised to run it. It will act the same as M-OS XT 3.11, except it will now look like Windows 95.

June 10, 2005

Sorry everyone for not updating earlier, but today was officially the last day of school for me, so I spent my time talking to friends and spending time with them. Anyway, M-OS XT 4.0 will now be developed more. I have new plans for M-OS too. I have a plan to integrate window-animations like that in Windows when the windows are minimized, but these animations take effect when windows are created in M-OS. Also, I have an experiment to re-introduce SVGA into M-OS. As many of you know M-OS Gold (the unsuccessful attempt of M-OS's port to SVGA), we will be starting off with the screen resolution of 640x480x256. Also, I have many other plans for M-OS too to be developed over the summer, so be prepared for M-OS in action. I'll try to be daily if not every other day, so I can let you all know what will be done or what has been done with M-OS.

June 6, 2005

Don't worry, M-OS is not dead. I will be ending school for summer vacation on this Friday, so I'll have much time to work on M-OS XT 4.0, which is looking great. I just have to convert a few programs and then it'll be done. After that, I have ideas for making M-OS look like KDE or Gnome.

June 3, 2005

I finished my final exams! I will be gone this weekend, sadly, but I'll still have time to work on M-OS and such.

May 30, 2005

QBasic Project Hosting is NOW OPEN!!! Project Submissions now accepted! To register, read this first: http://www.datacomponents.us.tt/qbproject/ .

May 27, 2005

I'm sorry for such a long wait, but this week has been a review and preparation week for my final exams. Sorry... :-( but I've got to study if I want to go into my Sophomore year at high school. I just thought you'd like to know that I'm still working on M-OS, in fact, I'm working on the coding of the M-OS XT 4.0 library, so I'm not going to give up on M-OS because of some exams. I am also hoping to set up QBProject.us.tt soon and open the hosting applications for anyone looking for QBasic Project Hosting.

May 22, 2005

Sorry for not updating, but exams are coming up for my school and I need to dedicate time to my high school studies, so progress will be slow for a couple of weeks, but in June, progress will pick up. Also, I am opening a QBasic Project Host. Here is the preliminary website: http://www.qbproject.us.tt/ . The project registrations will be allowed when notified on this site. There is still much to do.

May 18, 2005

Sorry for not updating in such a while, but I have been busy with school work and my studies. Since we high school students are finishing up the school year, we have to study for exams and prepare for tests, projects, etc. So, progress will be a little slow, but the next version of M-OS due is M-OS XT 4.0.

May 15, 2005

M-OS XT 3.11 is released! Here it is: http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2248/mosxt311.zip . It isn't much of a major improvement from 3.1, but in M-OS XT 4.0, I'll add a couple neat features. Plus, there will be a Windows 95-style theme.

May 14, 2005

Sorry for not updating any sooner since I've been working on M-OS XT 3.11 and the GUI Reviews at QBasicGUI.us.tt. M-OS XT 3.11 is almost done. It will be released tomorrow, hopefully.

May 11, 2005

Data Components GUI Reviews made the QB Express Issue #9 at Pete's QBASIC/QuickBasic Site. M-OS XT 3.11 is still under a lot of planning and development. We are still thinking about using either the normal desktop or a program manager. We'll eventually decide upon it and get it done.

May 9, 2005

Millennium OS XT 3.11 is being developed as you read this. M-OS XT 3.11 will, hopefully, look like Program Manager from Windows 3.x, so that it can look more like a Windows 3.1 environment. There is still lots of programming to be done, so I won't release it for quite a while. I'm not sure when I will though, but hopefully before June.

May 6, 2005

I'll be gone from the rest of Friday until late Sunday. So, I won't be able to answer any mail for a little while. M-OS XT 3.11 will be released later next week to help correct some of the errors and bugs in M-OS XT 3.1.

May 4, 2005

M-OS XT 3.1 Released! Here it is: http://kldp.net/frs/download.php/2172/mosxt31.zip

May 2, 2005

M-OS XT 3.1 is doing very well. I will probably have a release by next week, but since I'll be gone this upcoming weekend, I won't have time to work on it. A famous book also gave me advice here and I'm giving you the same. :-)

April 30, 2005

My apologies. There were some server problems with the temporary switch. The server reverted itself, and I was looking for a way to access the control panel. Our next version of M-OS is called: M-OS XT 3.1 (eXtended Technology). M-OS XT 3.1 will look like Windows 3.1, and it will feature a neat GUI too.

April 27, 2005 - 8:14 PM

Our servers are working correctly now. Millennium OS 2005 has been released! And also,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Millennium OS!

April 27, 2005

We are currently having server problems uploading the MOS2005.ZIP file onto our servers. M-OS 2005 will be released later today or more likely tomorrow.

April 25, 2005

Millennium OS 2005 is looking brighter and brighter! A couple bugs needing fixing, an installer, and a control panel and that's all that's left! I'm rushing to get it done by April 27!

April 23, 2005

Millennium OS 2005 still has some bugs, but it is on its way! April 27 is the release date of Millennium OS 2005 and the 1-year Anniversary of Millennium OS's development. I would like to have a forum set up, but hosting is limited now. I am working on finding a place to set one up, but it might be delayed.

April 20, 2005

Millennium OS 2005 is looking brighter and brighter. I have to add program swapping, graphics displayers, possibly a media-player, games, and a control panel to help people with M-OS 2005.

April 18, 2005

Millennium OS 2005 is looking better and more brighter. I am hoping to test it by next week so I can release it sooner. I might not be able to release M-OS 2005 with AR-DOS or MOSM because César said that MOSM is going to be remodeled with a new theme and AR-DOS is barely a "DOS" environment.

April 15, 2005

I'll be gone all weekend. M-OS 2005 is going pretty well. I have added some neat graphics software, and I am looking for some neat code from the All Basic Code libraries.

April 13, 2005

I added some neat graphics loading programs by YPI into M-OS 2005. I still need to add the following: Writer, Bills, Explorer, RTI Icons, Fonts and Font Routines, BIG LOAD/SAVE Routines. I'll need to implement these routines into M-OS 2005 to bring a faster environment to it.

April 11, 2005

I was able to update on Sunday, except for the fact that my web host was transferring servers and changing their TOS. So, I had to do some critical updating. Millennium OS 2005 seems to be doing well. I added "Yet-Another Tetris!" to M-OS 2005 as a game, but I've got a ways to go. I also would like to do some type of programs with QBWIN to incorporate into M-OS.

April 8, 2005

I'll be gone all weekend, and I won't have any updates until Monday. I'm adding some multimedia to M-OS such as games and tools.

April 6, 2005

Millennium OS 2005 will be released next week or later. I found out that MOSM and AR-DOS are still in development, and they will probably be ready by next week, hopefully. A NEW GUI WAS ADDED TO THE GUI REVIEWS!

April 5, 2005

I'm terribly sorry for not updating for so long. My web host has had some problems due to the server's problem with mySQL connecting. My password for the server has been lost every time I log into my control panel, so I have had to reset my password to a generic one by the server. Anyway, I have been working on Millennium OS 2005. I just need to add the desktop background loading feature into it like in Millennium OS Platinum Series. I'll need to contact César about AR-DOS and MOSM. He said that MOSM was being completely redone. So, I'll try to get it in by this week or next week. I'll be busy this weekend, since I'll be staffing for a training weekend.

April 1, 2005

I'll be busy for most of tomorrow and Sunday, so web updates might not be here. I have been looking at X-systems, and I am thinking of making a new version of M-OS (i.e. Floppy M-OS) after M-OS 2005 is released. M-OS 2005 is releasable, except that it is missing many features like games, tools, and multimedia.

March 31, 2005

I have been working on testing Millennium OS 2005. The GUI seems to be pretty stable, except for a few errors. I have also updated the GUI Reviews web site at: http://qbasicgui.us.tt/. I have received positive feedback about the website and its features.

March 28, 2005

I have discovered a few errors in M-OS 2005 while running it on my Celeron. I noticed that one error was running programs within the Command Prompt of Millennium OS. I noticed I get "String Space" errors when trying to run them. I'll try to see if I can put a type of memory swapping routine in it to improve the program's handling of memory. I also noticed that the GUI Reviews were a big step. If you have a GUI that you'd like me to review and post, just e-mail it to me.

March 27, 2005 - 7:41 PM

I have made a new portion of my hosting dedicated to GUI Reviews by me. Here's the URL: http://qbasicgui.us.tt/. If you have a GUI that you have made or just have a GUI and you'd like me to review it and put it on the site, just e-mail me: todd[AT]datacomponents.hostdi.info.

March 27, 2005

Happy Easter! Here's M-OS 2005 Preview-2!

March 25, 2005

I have completed the DLS System and written small documentation on it. A preview of M-OS 2005 will be released on Easter Sunday (March 27, 2005), and I'll also be trying to set up a GUI reviews site on this server as well. I'll be featuring some neat GUIs too!

March 24, 2005

I'm updating my blog through a Lehigh University computer. Anyway, I am working on the Font DLS for M-OS. I've been a little busy since I was working on Tzvety's GUI engine called "Excluse".

March 22, 2005

Sorry for not updating yesterday, but I have been a little busy with school before the Easter holiday. I have also found some neat TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) examples. I might get a type of "multitasking" or "multithreading" down in this version of M-OS. I am still working on the reconfiguration of programs to be adjusted to the M-OS 2005 environment. I'm also hoping to include some neat programs and games as entertainment.

March 20, 2005

Sorry for not updating yesterday, but my internet connection went off a little early. Anyway, César and I will be developing AR-DOS (Analog-Revolution) which will be based on FreeDOS. Also, I'm still working on M-OS 2005's DLSes, but I'm not completely done yet. I'd also like to add MOSM (MillenniumOSafeMode) to M-OS 2005 along with AR-DOS.

March 18, 2005

I am working on M-OS's DLS System. I am planning on using a Sans Serif-type font as the "system" font, and I'll include some other fonts in it as well. I'm also hoping to add some newer updated features to improve the overall M-OS Desktop. (e.g. The desktop background should have an option of enabling or not, but the background shall be a BSV file which uses QBasic's Get/Put to put 4-sections of a screenshot onto the desktop.) I am also going to be gone for most of tomorrow, so I'll probably update later that night or on Sunday.

March 16, 2005

I just received a Compaq laptop, and a Palm V from my friend Mike Moore today. He donated them to me for my project contributions. I truly thank him.

March 15, 2005

My PDA came, and I am also getting a Compaq laptop to test M-OS on. I am still working on M-OS 2005. I hope to improve it and make it smaller, faster, and more compatible. :-)

March 13, 2005

I hope to buy a ThinkPad off of eBay to use for testing M-OS. I'm thinking of using it for all the work I want to do in DOS. Plus, it would be good for learning. Anyway, I'm working on some DLSes for M-OS. A DLS (Dynamic Linked SUB) is like a DLL within Windows. It is called by a program. In the scripting language, I hope to add a type of "DLS calling" function. Something like: Call_DLS, "sound.dls", [argument(s)] . This should work nicely. I hope to include different DLSes (e.g. Sound, Graphics, Screen Modes, Video, Files, Disks, Pictures, Networking [maybe], etc.).

March 12, 2005

I have been working on the Millennium OS 2005 kernel and Scripting Language. The Scripting Language is pretty simple, and I hope to include many neat features in it. The engine itself acts like a desktop. I am also hoping on getting the 32-bit CRC code installed into M-OS for the FIRST TIME! =-)

March 10, 2005

This week has not been one of my better weeks, but I am updating today, in case I can't tomorrow. But, the TGO! Scripting Engine seems to work well in M-OS. I will hope to add some neat functions to it, so it can "blend in" with the Millennium OS environment. But, I will take it one step at a time.

March 8, 2005

Sorry for not updating yesterday. My PDA broke, and I was looking for a new one. :-( Anyway, I am working on a scripting language for Millennium OS which should emulate a type of multitasking. I am using Theta Technologies' TGO! Open Source GUI.

March 6, 2005

I have been very busy the past days between what I've been doing for M-OS and with my Boy Scout Troop. Also, for ALL Millennium OS Platinum/3 users, there is a MAJOR update in the "Millennium OS Updates" page!

March 2, 2005

Here is a preview of Millennium OS 2005. Please give me feedback: webmaster[at]datacomponents.hostdi.info . Thank you.

February 28, 2005

Well, I am still working on the preview and tidying it up for release. ALSO, I FOUND THIS PROGRAM WHICH LOOKS LIKE A SPITTING IMAGE OF "Windows 95/98". IT IS CALLED "WINDOSE"! It is German, but it is very neat too!

February 27, 2005

I am working on M-OS 2005, and I just uploaded some screenshots onto the "Millennium OS" page of this site. This version of M-OS is different from all of the rest, IT HAS AN X-WINDOW STYLE TO IT! I got the idea after looking at DESQview/X and seeing this. I will plan to release a preview in a few days or in a week.

February 26, 2005

I'm sorry I didn't have the release yesterday. My server has been giving trouble by saying that the zip file was oversized and couldn't be scanned with ClamAV. So, I spent all yesterday trying to get it up. It usually takes about an hour to get the entire file uploaded. But for now, the download is up there and working HERE. If there are any problems, please use our personal error reporting system. I'll start to publish a site for M-OS Information and Support called "Millennium OS Online".

February 23, 2005

I've been working on the visual appearance of the installer and the install packages. I'm also trying to set options for people who want to install M-OS too. I'm kind of scrambling at the last minute to get this done.

February 21, 2005

I found one of Day-Corp's old source code programs called "DC Slides" which is similar to PowerPoint. It doesn't exactly fit the features I want, but I can learn from it. It also won't compile due to QB's overflow errors. I do have some type of idea of how it should be done. I also cannot get the SDK to compile correctly as a library, so I'm deciding to make it open-source. I haven't made anything open-source recently, so keep the code free of charge in the release of M-OS: February 25, 2005.

February 20, 2005

Sadly, Presentations will not be available quite yet or anytime soon. There is not a good enough GUI library to support this project. I might work on it later, but maybe not. César and I still have to discuss our plans for M-OS 2005.

February 19, 2005

I have been busy working on bugs within M-OS. I hope that this week, I'll be able to release it. SERIOUSLY!!! It has been a while since I released a copy of M-OS. I am also working on screen savers, the installer, the SDK, and a neat program called "Presentations" which works similar to PowerPoint. I am still working on it though. It might not be released in this version or ever depending on QuickBasic's limitations. Plus, the links on the pages are fixed from the download.

February 17, 2005

I am working on the speech engine to learn new words and program them in. I also am thinking of using HOKER.BAS's QBWIN GUI for QB 7.1. It does seem to simplify programming. But, TGUI makes a nice SDK for GUI programmers. So do some others.

February 16, 2005

Qbasic OS/GUI Reviews are back up! Everything seems to be working smoothly. I am working on implementing new words into the M-OS Speech Engine.

February 15, 2005

As you can see, I am moving my stuff in to a new web host called "HostDI". It is really great. If they don't change their service, I'll stay here for a good long time.

February 14, 2005

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm sorry, but I don't really have much for today. I am working on how the installer should work. It should be part DOS, part M-OS like the Windows 3.1 setup. César also has made "Millennium OSafe Mode". Really neat! It will act as the safe mode for M-OS.

February 13, 2005

I've been busy the last few days between M-OS and web hosting. I found some neat sites to host my site until I can activate my NetRulon account. I'm now at 30 posts.

February 9, 2005

Well, NetRulon offers free accounts that are now ad-filled. I have to post messages in their forum to keep it ad-free. I've got to post some messages now. I'm up to 10. I need 50. M-OS will probably be published next week. Sorry...

February 8, 2005

I received confirmation today that the NetRulon site is back up, but they've got to activate the accounts, including mine. If results don't happen soon or if I get no reports from an administrator, I'll probably switch to SourceForge. I do like NetRulon, since it has cPanel and a good amount of web space and some neat features.

February 7, 2005

I don't believe it! The NetRulon account is STILL DOWN! I don't know what's happening, but I hope my account will be up sometime this week. I'd like an ad-free web site. Web space isn't a big deal, but I'd like my files on a single server. Anyway, I have a neat idea for M-OS 2005. I plan to construct M-OS 2005 like Windows. Using something like "SHELL" and "COMMCTL" and "RUNDLL". However, I'm still thinking about how DLLs are to be run. It seems to be a puzzling problem. But, I might not put this into thought yet. I've still got some testing to do with the SDK library. I'll see if I can publish a copy this week...

February 5, 2005

The NetRulon site is still down. If this continues, I'll copy this site to one of my SF.net pages (datacomponents.sf.net). I would like to include some neat examples with the SDK and some neat programs with M-OS to be used like in Windows. I have a neat Text-To-Speech engine for M-OS ready! It is very neat! If it doesn't know a word, it asks you to "pronounce" the word for it.

February 4, 2005

OH MY GOSH! I FORGOT ABOUT UPDATING THE SITE! I'M SO SORRY! I was pretty busy this week, and I realized that the NetRulon server is down, and I probably won't have it up for a little while. If I understand correctly, they're moving the accounts to new servers. Well, I have been working on M-OS. I have added some nice icons, a couple of programs, and I hope to work on the GUI library. The SDK is done, but needs to be compiled.

January 31, 2005

I hope to change the logo tomorrow from the new to the original. I haven't gotten much done for M-OS. However, I have been thinking of doing some type of CONSOLE-MODE macro for M-OS which emulates something similar to a DOSBox. However, this is just an idea. It might not work... :-(

January 30, 2005

By the end of January, I will put up the old logo for "Data Components Software Development". Also, I'm also testing the SDK for M-OS with simple compilations and examples. César also has ideas for M-OS "Security Mode" in Platinum/3. :-)

January 29, 2005

A little program I dug up from my archived folders. Here it is... you might like it. ;-) It's actually my first version of M-OS which I tried to make as a File Manager for DOS. It was unsuccessful, though. I finally got a scripting engine working in M-OS, and Serge is working on the code to Platinum/1. We're looking at pros and cons in the code. César also e-mailed me from a Lan House and told me that his internet service has been down. :-(
As for the SDK in M-OS, I'm still working on it with some tweaks. I also need to try to create some tutorials for it as well... When the SDK is done, the programs that are written for it act FOR the operating system and not WITH it meaning that the programs created are stand-alone programs that work in DOS as well. WHOA THAT'S A LOT OF NEWS!

January 28, 2005

I'm still working on archiving the M-OS web site, but I'm getting there. As for M-OS Platinum/3, I'm guessing that this will be the last of the "Platinum" editions, and we might begin work on "M-OS 2005" or M-OS "Home PC Series".

January 27, 2005

Whoa! Look at the time I'm updating! 9:30 PM in the Eastern part of the USA! But anyway, the SDK is looking better. It will probably be good enough to add some of the features from M-OS into it now. I will also see if I can bring the old M-OS web sites by Jonathan Thorpe and Matt Lee on my host. It might take a while though.

January 26, 2005

The GUI reviews seem to be of great pleasure to some of you. :-) César has an idea of making security for M-OS to make improvements. I am still working on the SDK for M-OS. Graphics arrays will need to be fixed as well in the SDK to work with the windowing system.

January 25, 2005

I gave up writing the Future Library for SCREEN 12, but I have something better! I archived a GUI reviews web site on my account! Here's the link. The web host, NeoZones, didn't keep the section up, so I thought like archiving it.

January 24, 2005

The M-OS SDK will still need some work, but it seems to be doing nicely. I am also working on a VGA-compatible version of the Future Library by Future Software! I am reconstructing the entire thing from scratch! When I release it, I will probably release code with it too! :-)

January 23, 2005

I was a little busy yesterday. Since I live in the Northeastern part of the United States, we had a lot of snow come down in our area, and I was shoveling snow for a while. But anyway, I am working on the SDK for Platinum/3, and I'm not sure if I want to use the XepGUI as an SDK or write my own. I'll figure it out on the way.

January 21, 2005

Sorry for not updating yesterday, but I was studying for my big science exam. I study for all of my exams, but science is the hardest! However, there has been good news since then. We have a new member to the team: Serge. César, Serge, and I are working on the kernel code to Platinum/3 so it will be a little nicer and more "performing". I also got XepGUI to work in QB45! So, this might appear as the SDK for M-OS. We still don't know when we will be starting M-OS 2005.

January 19, 2005

XepGUI doesn't seem to work after the conversion. And, we have "Bills" and "Writer" ready for M-OS. They work pretty nicely...

January 18, 2005

I have exams this week, and I haven't had much time (if any) to work on M-OS. However, I have an idea of using this GUI called "XepGUI" and use the SDK for M-OS. The GFX are really nice, except I have to convert it from the Future.Library form into QB.Library form.

January 16, 2005

The forum seems to be doing nicely. I hope to make a fully compatible Windows Extender wizard for M-OS, because of a forum post. I also hope to release a better version of M-OS Open Source, because it seems that people think that it is boring and dull. :-(

January 14, 2005

I have set up a forum right here: http://mos.datacomponents.us.tt/. This forum is for anyone who wants to ask questions about M-OS, or just wants to talk with César and me.

January 13, 2005

My exams begin next week. As for M-OS, not much has changed. I am busy preparing and studying. Also with M-OS, César wrote Bug Communicator for M-OS. It works nicely! ;-) And, there is still much to do with Platinum/3. Some of the things include: Compiling the Organized Code, Implementing New Code, Adding Multimedia (FLI, WAV, AVI), and incorporating (maybe) a scripting language. That way, people can write something like "macros" for M-OS.

January 11, 2005

César and I are writing a "Bug Communicator" program which reports bugs from M-OS through the web to one of us. We both have ideas for Platinum/3 and some new things to include.

January 10, 2005

My exams are coming up, and I'll be taking them next week on Tuesday. So, I'll be busy studying and preparing for the Mid-Terms instead of M-OS. However, I don't know if I'll be able to update this site.

January 9, 2005

Whoa! Sorry for not updating yesterday, but I just led a training weekend, and I was pretty tired. I'm starting to develop the SDK for M-OS, and I hope it will be very easy to use. If you have any errors with M-OS, you can file a report here. César and I still haven't begun to work on M-OS 2005, but we hope to have it ready. I have to remind him.

January 6, 2005

I'll be gone Friday evening until Saturday evening, so there probably won't be an update Saturday. But, M-OS Open Source is here!

January 5, 2005

Sorry for not updating yesterday, but I've been busy organizing the code to M-OS Platinum/3. I hope to have it finished by February, but I'm not sure. I've still got some coding to do.

January 3, 2005

M-OS might be delayed for a while. :-( I will be taking exams in a couple of weeks, and I should focus on my academics. I'll try to update the web site from time-to-time. Also, M-OS Open Source Edition will need some documentation done, but it's just about ready.

January 2, 2005

As usual in this part of the U.S.A., I return back to school. As for M-OS, the Open Source Edition still needs some work. I'd like to make some documentation for it, and maybe make a type of SDK which makes M-OS programming very simplified! :-) However, I am still working on it. I don't know when it'll be completed, but I hope soon.

January 1, 2005

I will be making an open-source version of M-OS for GW-BASIC or for a BASIC-type interpreter. I don't know when I'll have it done, but I will also need to modify M-OS Platinum/2. Since I tried running Platinum/2 on a Pentium 2, I've seen M-OS drastically slow down because of the theme loader. Plus, I'm going to be switching back to a Windows-Classic style for M-OS Platinum. ALSO, A MAJOR UPDATE FOR PLATINUM/2 USERS IN THE "Millennium OS Updates" Section!

December 31, 2004

M-OS Platinum/2 is finally published! Here's the link: http://www.pcpages.com/tlsuess/PLAT_2.zip. I hope everyone has a happy New Year. PLEASE SIGN MY GUESTBOOK! Or, e-mail me about comments, suggestions, ideas, or thoughts on M-OS. Thank you and have a Happy 2005!

December 30, 2004

I was a little busy yesterday. I've still got some testing and coding to do in Platinum/2, but I hope to have it out by the beginning of 2005 or the end of 2004. TOMORROW!!!

December 28, 2004

I am working on Platinum/2 and also developing a 32-bit edition of M-OS called "M-OS Server Edition". It should be able to run the custom server program, and have a nice desktop environment. Also, César and I are going to register a trademark in Brazil called "LunaBall Software Ltd.". As for Data Components Software Development, I'll still be updating the site, and I'll see if I can do work on both companies.

December 27, 2004

M-OS Platinum/2, I'm hoping, will be released in a few days. And since the new year is coming up, I'm planning on posting all, if not almost all, of my copys of M-OS. They won't have source code, but they have some neat features!

December 26, 2004

I designed a new GUI library for M-OS which resembles WinXP, and I am also implementing some new things into M-OS as well. I also have a plan to build a copy of ReactOS and re-code parts of it to make "Millennium OS Server Edition".

December 25, 2004

No news for today, except Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2004

After a tireless day and night of work, M-OS Platinum is finally here! Here is the link to the file. Sorry, but since it is a BETA release, there will be no installer, however I hope to have M-OS Platinum/2 out soon, since I'll be making a few new features, adding some programs, making an Installer, and doing a lot more testing.

December 23, 2004

Tomorrow, some time tomorrow, I'll have M-OS Platinum published! I just have to make a few minor changes, and it'll be ready!

December 22, 2004

The Netrulon account is temporarily down today, and I've been working on making some of the last minute preps for M-OS Platinum. In 2 days, M-OS Platinum will be released!!

December 20, 2004

M-OS is still pretty much done, except for a few apps and some small features. Plus, the documentation has to be written by me and translated by César.

December 19, 2004

I've been extraordinarily busy, so I haven't had much time to work on M-OS. However, César told me that "Writer", M-OS's word processor, is now at version 0.12! However, it needs fixing.

December 18, 2004

I finally published the new web site at Netrulon.com. Here's the link: http://datacomponents.netrulon.com/. It's AD-FREE!

December 16, 2004

César and I have been thinking about using a different web host than Tripod, since the ads are really buggy, and the web space is limited. BTW, M-OS Platinum's Kernel and GDI are ready, but I still need to write a few apps and documentation.

December 15, 2004

I am done with the kernel, and am now going to work on the GDI of M-OS. About 9 more days to go! César also made a logo for Millennium OS. I can't put it up now, but it will appear in M-OS Platinum. I hope that for M-OS Platinum/2 or for M-OS 2005, I'll have either a MAC theme or a Windows XP theme for M-OS. I studied Microsoft Neptune and Microsoft Whistler and the OSes both have some extraordinary window styles.

December 14, 2004

I am working on the source code for Blue, and I'm trying to work on the file selector part of it. I am also having ideas of using the Snowflake GUI from LaoSoft. Careful, the site is in German. I know my way around, even when I am taking Español (Spanish).

December 13, 2004

I know the Data Components Logo wouldn't appear, since I uploaded a new logo to PCPAGES.COM, because my web space at Tripod was used up. I now have the Christmas logo up! I am just about done with the Kernel, except I need to speed up a couple of processes. :-)

December 12, 2004

I've added the Background loading code into M-OS Platinum, so BMP backgrounds load faster! And, I mean, like the SPEED OF LIGHT! BMPs are put into a program called "BMP2BSV" where they are made into backgrounds loaded by the M-OS desktop. I also added some apps to M-OS such as a Calculator and when César's done with M-Office, that will be added as well. Progress!

December 10, 2004

I've been busy, yesterday, since I was working on converting BMPs to RTIs for M-OS. RTIs are icons used by Millennium OS Platinum.

December 8, 2004

I am thinking about using a new Mac OS style to M-OS. But, I want to see how well M-OS Platinum works, before I start using Mac OS style windows.

December 7, 2004

I've been busy with school work and projects, so M-OS Platinum has had nothing changed today or yesterday. Sorry... :-(

December 6, 2004

I have been looking around for other ideas, by looking for GUIs, and I have some ideas. M-OS Platinum still needs work, but I hope I finish before or by December 24.

December 5, 2004

My connection was down on Saturday, and I also was helping one of my friends with his computer, so I'm updating now. I have made an AVI Player for M-OS, and I have a lot to program. Some things I still have to implement are: CDS (Crash Detection System), M-OS Installation Script (like Windows Installer), more icons, history tracking, and just some stuff to finish it.

December 3, 2004

Sorry I couldn't update yesterday, but I was VERY busy with school work, and I didn't have enough time to update this page. I got word from César that he is just finishing up Millennium Office, and that will be in M-OS Platinum and future versions, too. I also received a copy of the source code for "Blue". It is actually pretty interesting, but a little annoying since it needs to have a path called "C:BLUE" available.

December 1, 2004

I've fixed some problems with M-OS's GDI.EXE, so the new Place.Icon routine is fixed. I realized that the new Place.Icon routine will not work in a GUI QuickLibrary, for an unknown error.

November 30, 2004

This week is going to be LONG! Since my school had off for the holiday, I have to study for some tests and prepare some projects. I'll probably have SOME time, tonight, to work on M-OS, but I'm not sure. I work on M-OS every little bit of time I get. I'd like it to be one of my more MAJOR projects.

November 29, 2004

I've been working on the Control Panel and other programs in M-OS Platinum. Hardware Detection is also a new feature! I have contacted "Harry Charles" who wrote the GUI called "Blue" by Day-Corp Software Corporation. I am going to use the source code from his GUI to make a file manager program.

November 28, 2004 - 1:47 PM

I was digging up some old programs I made, and I found a Property Editor for Delphi 7, which I wrote to imitate Delphi's Object Inspector. Here's the link: http://www.pcpages.com/tlsuess/propinfo.zip It's a little interesting, but that was when I wanted to invent a programming language in Delphi.

November 28, 2004

I found a screen capture and load program for SCREEN 12, which loads pictures VERY QUICKLY using the BLOAD/PUT functions. I will try to see if it works in M-OS Platinum. It doesn't load from one file, but 4 separate file, each one which loads on 1 quarter of the screen.

November 27, 2004

I've decided to use the Icon loading algorithm from RushOS and implement it into Millennium OS, so that the icons will be neat-looking. I posted a screenshot of M-OS Platinum up in the "Millennium OS" section. As for the BMP loading, I'll have to make it in Platinum/2.

November 26, 2004 - 7:05 PM

A little typo back there, but I corrected it. As for Millennium OS Platinum, I am incorporating some of RushOS, such as the apps, into M-OS. I would like to have a picture-loading background if possible, but I don't know if I should use BMP or QB's "BLOAD/BSAVE" idea. I know that BLOAD is faster, but I'll look into it.

November 26, 2004

Over 100 hits yesterday for the source code release! Hope everyone got what they wanted. :-) Just a little personal note, I'm a nice guy, and I want to make the people, who come to my website, happy. I've been studying the RushOS source code, and it is very interesting. I hate this one function which is like a safety check, and makes sure that the compiled EXEs are the correct file size. >:-( If the EXE is not the size as it should be, the RushOS program will not run. As you probably noticed, I archived all of the news from July 9th to just yesterday. Loading this page was taking a very long time, so I archived my news.

November 25, 2004

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Here's the links to the source code files for 3 of the M-OSes:
Millennium OS 2004
Millennium OS Beta
Millennium OS Platinum (Build: 20042411)
Remember, that at 12:00 PM on November 26, 2004, the files will no longer exist! Here is the time of my city, so get it before the time is "November 26, 2004 - 12:00 PM". I FINALLY GOT THE SOURCE CODE FOR RushOS!!!!

November 24, 2004

I was uploading the source code files to a separate host, since the webhost I tried before was UNRELIABLE, I had to use my external account, and I had nothing better to do, so I made a little picture using one of my 3D Engines. It's not precision or even considered "good", but it's interesting. I call it, "Unlimited Webspace". The blocks are supposed to be servers in a large room. I'll get into more detail later.

November 23, 2004

I've been busy preparing the sources at one of my external websites for Thanksgiving Day! Here is a link to see what time it is in my location: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I will be posting the source code at EXACTLY 12:00 PM, since my network connection won't be available at midnight. I will, then, take it down November 26, 2004 at 12:00 PM, so you will have exactly 24 hours to get the source code for 3 of the M-OSes. I have an idea to have M-OS Platinum handle EMS/XMS, but that won't be until Platinum/2, when memory-mapping will be a new added feature. Network/Internet extensions are also going to have to be added, if possible. BTW, here is info about a program which I hope to start in 2004/2005, called "3D Game Workstation". I might leave it off until very, very later. :-(

November 21, 2004

My web hosting account by Netrulon Services will be opened shortly. I still don't know if I should stick with this website or change to their hosting services. ???

November 19, 2004

I won't be here this weekend and won't be back until late afternoon on Sunday. So, M-OS Platinum won't be worked on this weekend. If you try to email me now, don't expect a reply until Sunday or Monday.

November 18, 2004

M-OS Platinum is going along a little slowly. I have designed a error handler for M-OS, and some error messages. I want to make M-OS Platinum as stable as possible. I hope to have some new ideas in before Thanksgiving. I hope to work on the M-OS Platinum Edition for a long time, since it seems to work well than M-OS Gold would. I downloaded Maniasoft's Windes ME, and their GUI is really AWFUL! It doesn't multitask, it doesn't run DOS programs, and I couldn't even get it installed for the first couple of times trying!

November 17, 2004 - 3:21 PM

I forgot to add something. Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I would like to show my appreciation to everyone in Cyberspace by saying that for the ENTIRE Thanksgiving Day, I will be POSTING MY SOURCE CODE FOR M-OS BETA, M-OS 2004, and M-OS PLATINUM AT MY WEBSITE, and it will be able to be downloaded for the ENTIRE DAY, and ONLY that day. Get the source, before it is gone!

November 17, 2004

I might include some programs from RushOS into M-OS, so that there is a "cross" between GUIs. The Data Components Website has reached 1000 viewers since July 9th, 2004, TODAY! "Thanks to all of you who asked me questions, challenged my skills, and had suggestions, comments, or ideas. I really appreciate all that you have done. I will continue to maintain this site until I run out of time and start a job, or whenever..." - Todd Suess.

November 16, 2004

Not much news, yet. I'm looking for the source code for a GUI called "Rush" or "RushOS" by RushSoft. I am trying to get it. The site doesn't exist anymore, so I have to ask around. I am also signed up at a web services site, so I am working on trying to get my site to work.

November 14, 2004

All of this news is getting pretty long on this web page. I probably should create an archive, and have only a week's news posted on my webpage. I won't be here next weekend, since I'll be in Virginia. I haven't gotten much done for M-OS Platinum, except for making a file selector, but I'm still working on it. I have some cool plans and ideas for M-OS Platinum which I came up with at High School a couple of weeks ago, but maybe I'll see if I can put them into M-OS.

November 12, 2004

I will be setting up a sub-directory with reviews of ALL of my GUIs which I have collected over the years. The review won't be quick, though. I hope to have it done by the end of this year... maybe. :)

November 11, 2004

A NEW MEMBER TO THE "Data Components Software Development" TEAM!!!!
We have a new member who's name is Cesar Augusto. Cesar and I are working on revising the M-OS 2004 code, yet M-OS Platinum is still being worked on. Since it will take a little while longer, it will be finished on December 24, 2004, as a Christmas Gift for the Holidays. :-) We are also open to receive donations for Millennium OS. Please donate...

November 8, 2004

I'll be gone tomorrow, and I'll be in NYC. I am writing a File Selector using the QBF OS GUI Library, maybe to use in M-OS Platinum, and to give me a challenge. I got a message from someone in Brazil who wants to join me in programming.

November 7, 2004

I've been pretty busy. I have been looking for the PCI tools by Craig Hart, which I will use to detect hardware and devices in Millennium OS. I've also established my website at SourceForge: http://millenniumos.sourceforge.net/.

November 5, 2004

Sorry about not updating yesterday. I was running late for a meeting, and I was exploring the code for QBF OS, which a friend sent me. M-OS Platinum is starting to slow, a little. I am trying to put a website up at my SourceForge.net account, which will have no ads, except for one, but it's just the SourceForge logo.

November 3, 2004

M-OS is coming along well, even though multitasking is not available. I am still battling DOS to do TRUE multitasking, not closing programs and running others from a different program, to FAKE multitask. Plus, I managed to restore some of the QBasic files and some of my old products on my website, using my external page's webspace.

November 2, 2004

I haven't had much time to work on M-OS today, since I have been looking for a file manager with a 12h screen mode. I tried to make one using Allegro, but it gave me disk errors, I don't know why. :(

November 1, 2004

This week looks like it will go pretty well. I am not supposed to have much work, and maybe I can work on M-OS Platinum. I don't know if M-OS will have TRUE multitasking. If M-OS were to have TRUE multitasking, I would have to learn more about Assembler and Memory Swapping Routines.

October 31, 2004

Multitasking seems like it isn't working well. I'll have to work on it, or I'll have to give it up. But then again, M-OS never really needs multitasking(?). I'll just have to do without it. Or, do some experimenting with it. GUIs like GEM and MyLaOS couldn't multitask, and they were ranked pretty well. I'll have to look into it. BTW, I now contact Jacob Palm about his GUI, called "Costa" at: http://www.jacobpalm.dk/.

October 30, 2004

M-OS is still under construction. I am implementing the SWAPBAS routines in M-OS, but I'm going to have to use an external parsing program to have Task Swapping abilities. BTW, I registered a TK domain. So, you can type in "datacomponents.tk", and you'll be taken to my webpage!

October 29, 2004

I am still choosing which programs to use for M-OS Platinum. Today, since I had study halls instead of a couple of classes, today, I drew up plans for M-OS and a visual diagram of what happens. It might take a little while longer, since I'll be handing candy out for Trick-or-Treaters tonight, so I won't be near my computer. I might be Defragging my PC.

October 27, 2004

Today is the program testing day. I have found a selected number of program source codes to review and run so they can be ported to M-OS. I'll probably take down the M-OS Gold page, since it will be at a complete stop. I won't make an M-OS Platinum page for this site, since I'll be optimizing and defragmenting my computer on Friday.

October 26, 2004

I received source code for a modified version of QBF OS, which is called "QBF-2000". It was written pretty well, and looks very interesting. I am also going to skip the idea of a scripting engine, since it is too hard to program that DO...LOOP idea into it. I know how to do it, but getting it to work with M-OS is the trick. I am probably going to implement a Task-Swapper hotkey into the programs for M-OS so it can "like"-multitask with "Alt+Tab" or a function key.

October 25, 2004

I am still in the process of researching programs and code to be used in M-OS, to improve stability and performance. I am trying to make it look like a neat style desktop with icons from Mac, HighTech, and EldoS. I am planning on making it look neat and interesting. As for the "File Manager", I'll see if I can upload it tomorrow or tonight, and put a link on the "Products/Downloads" page. It will probably never be programmed again, unless demand is for it.

October 24, 2004

Millennium OS will have to have a completely re-written scripting engine, because I'm trying to solve the method of the "DO...LOOP" procedure in the M-OS scripts to emulate in QB. I'm going to have to find some Assembly routines as well, so I can help with M-OS's new features such as a "DOSBox" and the 32-bit code in M-OS.

October 20, 2004

Well, this is one of my "free" days, where I don't have any work, so I'm going to finish coding the scripting engine for M-OS. Maybe stabilize the Kernel. It will have to be checked and revised. I'm hoping to implement multimedia functions within M-OS! It would be great to have MP3s/WAVs played or to show BMPs! Well, maybe...

October 19, 2004

The M-OS Scripting Engine is not yet ported from my notes to a PC yet, but I'll get to it. I've been busy this week with many things relating to my classes at school. I haven't had much time to accomplish much of anything for M-OS, yet, but I'll see if I can get to it tonight or tomorrow.

October 17, 2004

I've been pretty busy. I've been working on uploading my M-OS Project files to my SourceForge project, which I hope to have done, by next week. I am planning to code the scripting engine for M-OS today, and if it works, I'll see if I can write some examples and a compiler for the Apps. I'm planning on making a STABLE, LITE version of M-OS, but I don't know what to call it. I'll have to get to it later.

October 12, 2004

Well, I don't know what will happen to M-OS Gold, because due to a sudden change of events, I won't be finishing it for November 20th and new ideas have come up for the next version of M-OS. I am planning on testing a scripting engine, to improve performance, and I'm also a co-developer of a TUI for DOS.

October 10, 2004

I have been asked to help work on Arachne OS with MenuetOS! I have said yes, but M-OS is still one of my projects. I've also been asked to write a new version of my "TPMS" (Troop Point Management System), and give a presentation of it on October 25th. I am probably going to have to delay M-OS Gold, since I also want to program and test a scripting lanaguage for M-OS which could replace the Kernel and programs, as well as improve multitasking.

October 8, 2004

I haven't had much time to get anything done, and I'll be gone this weekend. I won't be back until Sunday afternoon. I'll have to work on M-OS during the week.

October 7, 2004

I don't know if M-OS Gold will be finished by November 20th, because of my activities in high school, but I have a new idea for M-OS users! The "Millennium OS Framework"! Check it out in the "Millennium OS" page on this site for more info!

October 5, 2004

M-OS Gold is starting to become better, I hope. I haven't tested it yet. The testing day is: November 17-18, 2004. Between that time, I'll be working mainly on the kernel, and the programs for M-OS. I have new ideas for the next version of M-OS, "Millennium OS Platinum". I am trying to get it to be like Windows, in terms of the OS's style and window theme. It'll be hard, but it might be done. Well, I hope you can give me new ideas for M-OS or even give me support! Thanks.

October 4, 2004

M-OS Gold had a short delay, but it will still be made by November 20th, 2004. I have set a plan out for what will be done on the days during that time, to ensure that M-OS will be completed. Today, I am converting the graphics code today, part of the plan for M-OS Gold.

October 3, 2004

The File Manager v1.0 is FINISHED! It is more like a file selector, and I'll have to work on making it manage files. There was a small problem, which is solved. I'll post it later. M-OS Gold has been halted due to many different requests from people. I have many projects that need to be completed, so M-OS will not be completed. M-OS is still not dead.

October 2, 2004

Well, M-OS Gold is now ported to my Celeron where new modifications to the Kernel will be made there. I RECEIVED A REPLY FROM Jonathan Thorpe, the Man Himself! He gave me a copy of the QBF OS 99 code! I truly thank him. QBF OS 99 will also be another project later after M-OS Gold.

September 27, 2004

Whoa! I sort of lost track of time! Sorry I didn't update sooner. My website host PCPAGES.COM shut down my website for some odd reason, and they didn't tell me why. I'll have to work on it. M-OS Gold is taking SUCH A LONG TIME!!! I still haven't loaded it onto my celeron! I'll have to do that. Lots of ideas were going through my mind about Multitasking in DOS, new GUI designs, and how to have an OS-like scripting language!

September 23, 2004

Well, I have re-setup a site at pcpages.com. So, now if you click on a "datacomponents.tripod.com" link, change it to "http://www.pcpages.com/tlsuess/". Last Minute Roster 4.1 is now available!

September 21, 2004

TERRIBLE NEWS! http://datacomponents.tripod.com/ has just been shut down. The files will no longer be available until I can find free web space. No news of M-OS yet.

September 20, 2004

The "File Manager" program is now at a HALT. Since some of the errors still prevail, I'll have to get back to it later. I am now trying to work on converting the M-OS graphics code into Future-library graphics format.
E.G.
LINE (0, 0)-(150, 150), 7, BF
becomes
Future.FILLBOX 0, 0, 150, 150, 7

It is conversions like that.

September 19, 2004 - 5:10 PM

Well, I have a new version of Last Minute Roster available in the "Products/Downloads" section of this page. Check it out! I changed the code for generating rosters a LITTLE bit.

September 19, 2004

Sorry I couldn't update sooner. The storm from Hurricane Ivan hit my city, and the cable and internet connections were down for a while. I would have updated yesterday as well, but I was suddenly disconnected. Anyway, I am working on getting the Future Library to work in M-OS Gold. I will have lots of work to do with it.

September 16, 2004

M-OS Gold will need LOTS of work! I looked at the FUTURE Library, and it seems like the MOSDLL library will need some type of code to read from a BINARY FILE, but the Kernel in M-OS Gold will not REQUIRE IT, but instead BUILD THE BINARY FILE! I'll see what happens...

September 14, 2004

I have 3 programs on my task list to work on, including M-OS Gold and Mr. Outing, so I won't know when M-OS will be finished, as well as Mr. Outing. The third program is a Troop-Point-Handling-System. I will create a prototype of that, which I hope won't take very long. Well, I thought I'd tell you what is happening.

September 12, 2004

I have some new ideas for M-OS Gold! I just returned from my SMALL trip, so "Mr. Outing" has not been programmed yet... I don't know when I'll get to it.

September 10, 2004

I'll be gone for the weekend, so M-OS Gold will not be programmed until Sunday. I'll have to transfer it to my Celeron with a VESA driver. Oh, and a new product will be made for the end of September, "Mr. Outing". It will manage Boy Scout outings and some more stuff too!

September 8, 2004

I have designed a new logo for Millennium OS Gold! It looks cool! Check it out in the "M-OS Gold" page on the navigation bar.

September 7, 2004

Well, progress will be VERY SLOW this month. I am busy every weekend of September, so I probably won't have much. Millennium OS Beta is released! It has a few corrections, but nothing much. It's basically an update from Alpha. I have plans for the next M-OS. Check out the "M-OS Gold" page on the navigation bar.

September 4, 2004

I'm sorry there hasn't been any news, yesterday, because I got to tangled in a new product which I am planning on working on this weekend. It is called "WinStart". It is based on ReactOS, but it is supposed to run Windows programs, when using a command line like this: "WINSTART.EXE c:windowsnotepad.exe". I have to work on that. I am also going to try to work on the File Manager this weekend as well, to see if I can fix that big error. Oh, and Millennium OS Beta will be released soon as well.

September 2, 2004

I have been working the "File Manager", but the error is not gone. I will have to work on it, tomorrow, or maybe on the weekend. I will see what I can do.

September 1, 2004

Well, I just began school again, so I do not know how much I will update this site. I'll try to when I can. But, the "File Manager's" File Selection System (FSS), is starting to become more stable. I just have to fix one error, about handling files as files, and folders as folders. BTW, yesterday, Millennium OS was selected by a DOS Desktop programmer to be used in their GUI called "ArachneOS". It uses "Arachne-WWW", check it out: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arachneos/. The group admin. will make you a member, himself, so expect to wait for a reply to join.

August 30, 2004

I will not be available from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Eastern Time. If you try to email me, don't expect a reply very soon. BTW, I got news that someone is interested by my GUI. Oh, I don't know how long it will take to get the file manager stable, because it thinks that some files are directories, but I am seeking the error.

August 29, 2004

Interesting... I have made a small prototype of a file selector, soon to be a file manager. I am doing this in QBasic, but I might post it as an update. Who knows, it might appear in Millennium OS Beta!

August 28, 2004

I have modified some screen display errors within M-OS Beta, and will hope to have it work like Windows 95/98 in terms of booting and working. It will take a little while, but I'll see what I can do. I still don't know what to do for the Millennium OS Alpha webpage: http://www.cmlb.net/mos, should I keep it or should I delete it?

August 27, 2004

I am programming the Millennium OS Beta! It is coming out well. I have caught a few bugs and repaired them. I don't know if Millennium Scripter 2.0 will be part of "Beta's" composition, but I hope to have Millennium Scripter as a separate product. I have an idea for M-OS Cappa or M-OS Delta, maybe Millennium Scripter will be the kernel and programs will be written via Millennium Script. This can also provide better tasking and better memory management! It's just a thought.

August 26, 2004

I'm very sorry! Millennium OS Alpha has been made, but I need to post it on another website, because my account ran out of space. I just modified some changes to Millennium OS Alpha to make it easier to upload and download. It will lose the Drivers' System, but in return, it will lose 5 MB of the top! The new file size is (2.26M) Here's the URL: http://datacomponents.tripod.com/mosalpha.zip

August 25, 2004

I have a "Frequently Asked Questions" Page setup at my site. Feel free to ask me a question whether it is about me or about my work. And M-OS Alpha is finally uploaded! Lecktronix.net wouldn't let me upload my file, so it now resides at: http://www.psend.com/users/datacomponents/, and the file is called "mosalpha.zip". To get this, you can go to the "Millennium OS" page of this site and download it from there.

August 24, 2004

M-OS Alpha is finally finished!!! The file resides at: http://www.datacomponents.lecktronix.net/, and the file is called "mosalpha.zip". To get this, you can go to the "Millennium OS" page of this site and download it from there. I am also working on a new version of Millennium OS called, "Millennium OS Innovative". It will be able to run SOME Windows-based programs, not all, but it will also look like the original desktop, only a little different. I am coding this in C using MinGW and GCC/G++. I'll see if I can post a screenshot of "Millennium OS Innovative" in action!

August 22, 2004

I am just putting the finishing touches on M-OS Alpha, such as making it distributable. Since this site is limited to 20 MB, you might find this file at http://www.datacomponents.lecktronix.net/. It isn't there now, but I'll see if I can post it there, if not, I will post a link in the section of this page.

August 20, 2004

I have discovered the OLD, UNMANAGED website by Jonathan Thorpe!!! The website has small info on it, but nothing much... still, here's the link.

August 18, 2004

I will be attending High School in August 31, 2004, so that means that updates will be gradual, but I will try to update this page at least ONCE or TWICE a week, maybe.
M-OS Alpha is coming along well, I would like to put some common screensavers in it and write a screensaver selector, but I will also make "Millennium Scripter 2.0" for M-OS Beta, the next version! (I AM OPEN TO ANY NEW IDEAS, DROP ME AN E-MAIL, PLEASE...)

August 15, 2004

I finally have a simple, but GUI-based File Manager! It is called "Millennium OS Explorer" and it can be found in the "Millennium OS Updates" section of the site. The File Manager is simple and also, TO EXIT THE M-OS EXPLORER, PRESS CTRL+Q. P.S. Today is my B-Day! Now I'm 14.

August 7, 2004

I have been finding different drivers for Millennium OS Alpha, and maybe I'll have a device detection system in it. If not in this one, in M-OS Beta, the next version. I use Greek letters to indicate versions. I will be gone for a week, and I'll won't have ANY news in the meantime, or until Friday or Saturday. I have high hopes for M-OS Alpha.
I also have a Yahoo! Group setup for Millennium OS, please check it out. The URL is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/millennium_os/. P.S. I posted a screenshot of Millennium OS Alpha, feel free to see.

August 6, 2004 - 8:22 PM

There was a small glitch. I fixed the links on the pages and uploaded the newer files. They are ZIPped now, so they should be downloadable.

August 6, 2004

I am working on a short promo for the Data Components Logo (shown at top), but the program that helps me generate the logo, won't work. It won't generate the ThorFX to show the extra glow in the current between the 2 cubes. Also, I am working on getting a better website. The website will be the same, except it will not have adds, and I will have more bandwidth and more webspace. I am using "000k.com" and am waiting for a reply.
I also am working on an INF file-reading system like in Windows, but all it does so far is loading drivers (e.g. video, keyboard, and mouse).

August 5, 2004

Yes, I noticed some of the files with ".EXE" on the end can't be accessed, but I will fix the problem. In the meantime, no news about Millennium OS yet, but for people interested in Borland Delphi, check out the next Delphi Release at this link!
http://bdn.borland.com/article/0,1410,32499,00.html

August 4, 2004

I know it's been a long time since I gave you some news, but I have been working on M-OS Alpha, which graphically displays files as icons, something M-OS never did ON ITS OWN!!! It is under heavy construction, but I keep a page of a Nightly Build updated. Here it is:http://www.cmlb.net/mos

July 26, 2004

Although I am gone, I can still update my website through a hotel connection. I just finished a couple of new M-OS "small" projects like, "Millennium OS NT", "Millennium OS City Edition", and "Millennium OS Linux Edition." Maybe post these in August 1. (IN THE MEANTIME, ANY SOFTWARE THAT MAY BE VALUABLE TO YOU, GET IT BEFORE I GET RID OF IT!)

July 22, 2004

Millennium OS 2004 is HERE! The Media Player will be in the updates page of Millennium OS 2004, but the file posted on the web is just the setup program with the GUI/Kernel. I hope to make the setup more advanced. P.S. I'll be gone for a week or so, so I won't have any news during that time.

July 21, 2004

Millennium OS 2004 is just about ready, I found the WAV playing code by Sebastian-Mate, and I can use ZIP compression/decompression for the setup program. I hope to have it for you tomorrow!! (NOTE: M-OS 2004 won't be "dead" after this, I will write updates on a different page, and will answer any emails to me about M-OS or my products.)

July 20, 2004

I just ran into a "brick wall." I don't know how I should write the setup program. My plans are to have it look like the Windows 95 setup, but in the setup program, I want 16-color bitmap advertisements. (I am also working on a better WAV player!) - The DMAPlayer was useless, it only played 2 seconds of WAV files. -=[ I hope to release M-OS 2004 by Thursday or closer... ]=-

July 18, 2004

I was gone for a long time, but Millennium OS 2004 is taking longer than I expected. I am working on the Installer part of the OS. I am trying to plan on something like Windows 95 Setup.

July 9, 2004

Data Components website just posted! Keep ya updated for more news.

Data Components Software Development - 2004-2006
